    What you'll be doing

    As an Area Leader, you’ll be responsible for delivering a memorable customer experience, carrying out our mission and driving the success of every store in your area. And we don’t just mean success by the numbers. We use a scorecard that measures success by what matters most: the store’s impact and experience. As an Area Leader, you’ll use this scorecard to ensure we’re truly bettering people’s days in every community we serve.


    How you’ll impact the Philz community:

    • Creating the best experience means spending a lot of time in stores. Typically, one day a week is dedicated to administration while the others are spent in stores.
    • You’ll build relationships with and inspire your team, especially the store leader.
    • You’ll connect with the store leader, helping them improve by setting a good example, giving feedback, coaching, and communicating our mission and values.
    • Through your effective leadership you'll achieve continuous improvement in each store’s scorecard every month.
    • Our team is one big family. You’ll work with other departments to create, pilot and implement programs to help us grow and deliver our mission.

    • Strong attention to detail and loves going to stores. This isn't really a desk job, it's a people job but you must also be strategic 
    • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback under any circumstances
    • Strong ability to see things through. Execution skills need to be exceptional
    • Experience successfully leading a team in a customer service environment (coffee experience is not required, but previous multi-unit retail management experience is!)
    • Ability to travel to additional new markets as well as the Home Office in San Francisco as needed.
